Armwood football coach Sean Callahan has been extended an invitation to
coach in the very prestigious 2009 U.S. Army All-American Bowl East Squad.
Coach Callahan is excited about this opportunity to coach in San Antonio on
January 3rd and attributes it to the many outstanding Armwood football
players and teams that have come through in the last 5 years who all helped
to build the reputation of Armwood Football.  



This year's Armwood squad continues to move up in the national and state
polls.  Currently our Hawks are ranked:

1st in the Tampa Tribune's Top 10 in Hillsborough County

1st in the Catch 47 Bright House Tampa Bay area rankings

1st in the St. Petersburg Times Fab 40 prep teams in the Bay area

1st in the State of Florida (all classifications) by Florida Football
Magazine

1st in the State of Florida (all classifications) by Pinkos' Power Ratings

2nd in the State of Florida (all classifications) by the Beef O' Brady's Top
25

9th in the National Cal Preps National Power ratings

9th in the National CNN Sports Illustrated Prep Rankings

7th in the National ESPNrise prep football rankings

7th in the National PrepNation top 50 football rankings

5th in the National USA Today top 25 prep football rankings

2nd in the National Rival top 50 prep football rankings

Which puts them

4th in the Call Preps National Compilation Poll which puts together all the
major national polls into one ranking. 



No TampaBay area football team has ever been ranked this high! 



Next up for the Hawks this Friday is a very, very good Jefferson Dragon team
that is as talented as any team the Hawks will face all year.  Our Hawks
have not lost at home since 2002 so this will be a big game for our Hawk
faithful!  That's almost six years since our Hawks have lost at Da' Wood so
please come add your voice and keep our streak going!   We'll need it all
for this tough test!  In our last three games the Hawks have outscored our
opponents 135 - 10!
